PAR3080Paramedic clinical educator (6 points)(MED) Leader: Associate Professor F Archer
Offered: Synopsis: This subject introduces the theories of learning through a discussion of the learning cycle, the principles of adult learning and contemporary theories relating to learning styles. The subject considers the methods by which the need for training and level of training required in a clinical environment is established and then describes the structural components of a theory, practical and skills session. Different teaching methods are described with respect to application, use and effectiveness, and students are provided with opportunities to develop teaching skills and practice the use of teaching resources including audio-visual aids. Assessment: Assignments: 40% + Lesson plan: 15% + Teaching assessment: 45% Contact Hours: 156 hours including 24 hours direct contact Prerequisites: employment by an Ambulance Service |
