Synopsis: The role of microorganisms and host responses in infectious disease. The role of the nurse in the management of the patient with an infectious disease. The pathophysiology of selected multisystem disorders related to infection.

Assessment: Written examination: 55% + Practical work: 30% + Assignment: 15%
