MPH2070Statistical methods in epidemiology (6 points)(MED) Leader: Associate Professor A Forbes
Offered: Synopsis: Explores regression methods used in epidemiological research through research data analysis & critical appraisal of published articles. Covers traditional methods of linear, logistic poisson & proportional hazards regression models, examining their specification, fitting & diagnostics. Also modern methods such as bootstrap handling of clustered & repeated measures data & introduction to generalised additive models. Combination of formal lectures, discussion sessions & data analysis using laptop computers. Assessment: Written assignments + Oral presentation + Class exercises Contact Hours: 2 contact hours per week Prerequisites: MPH2000 |
