Synopsis: Practical application of statistical analysis of data for many commonly encountered epidemiological study designs. Focus on logical construction rather than mathematical formulation; ensuring applicability; computational methods & potential difficulties. Topics include sample size selection, categorical data methods using stratification, confounding & effect modification assessment, linear & logistic regression methods & survival data analysis. Students can purchase at a discounted price the statistical software package used from the Dept.

Assessment: Class exercises + Written assignments

Contact Hours: 2 contact hours per week

Prerequisites: MPH1040 & MPH1041 or MPH1030 & MPH1031
