System analysis and design (6 points)

Synopsis: The unit provides an examination of information systems theory and analysis, and why systems analysis and design are essential to the creation of information systems. It also provides an examination of the systems approach to solving problems in business and the practice of electronic commerce.

Assessment: Assessment assignments: 50% Examination 50% Stduents must achieve at least 40% of the possible marks in the assignments overall and the examination in order to pass the unit.

Contact Hours: Students will attend 4 hours of scheduled classes, and be expected to undertake 8 hours of self-directed study each week.

Prerequisites: MMS1001, MMS1801

Corequisites: Nil

Prohibitions: IMS2071, GCO2601, GCO1813, GCO2852, BUS2071, IMS1002, CPE2003
