MMD1302Multimedia & digital arts studio A (6 points)(A&D) Leader: To be advised
Offered: Synopsis: This unit introduces students to the language of multimedia and digital arts. The roles of multimedia designer and digital artist are explored. Methods for problem solving two-dimensional multimedia screen design and analysing electronic media are developed, and the various multimedia elements are defined, including text, image, sound, animation and video. Particular emphasis is placed on the role of text and images in multimedia design, including the skills and techniques to use these elements in electronic documents. Assessment: Major projects: 85%. Journal: 15% Contact Hours: 6 points + 12 hours per week including; 1 hour lecture, 3 hour studio and 8 independent study hours per week + Second semester, Caulfield + Prerequisites: DGN1001 and OHS1000 and DIS1103 + Core subject within Bachelor of Multimedia and Digital Arts + Prohibitions: MMD1101 and MMD1102 and MMD1202.
