Synopsis: The interaction of external environment, organisational factors and strategic human resource management (SHRM) is examined from multiple perspectives. Topics may include strategic choices facing the organisation in the areas of business planning, building SHRM capabilities, transforming the HR function, and SHRM program evaluation. The implications of SHRM for organisational performance are examined.

Assessment: Group presentation and assignment: 25% + Individual written assignment (4000 words): 50% + Examination (2 hours): 25%

Contact Hours: 3-hour class per week, block mode

Prerequisites: MGX9850 or appropriate prior human resource studies
