Offered: Synopsis: A study of the interconnection of the functions of industrial relations and human resources specialists and their changing roles in the light of the greater emphasis now accorded to workplace industrial relations and reform. Issues include the impact of changing technology, work organisation, skill formation, the growth of new forms of employment, performance appraisal and reward systems. Assessment: Written (assignments 4000 words): 40% + Take-home examination: 60% Contact Hours: 3-hour session per week Prerequisites: Must have passed four 9000-level units and either MGX9220 or MGX9850 |
