Synopsis: Introduction to the major differences between domestic and IHRM; cultural, social and ethical issues for IHRM; IHRM planning, policies and procedures; international relations and evaluation of host country environments; recruitment and selection; remuneration; training and compensating expatriates; maintaining the employment relationship within international operations.

Assessment: on-campus: Written minor assignment (2000 words) 20%; Major assignment (3000 words) 30%; Tutorial participation 10%; Examination (2 hours) 40% + Off-campus: Two assignments 60% + Examination (2 hours) 40%
