Synopsis: Entrepreneurial activities in the hospitality and tourism industry, accommodation types and trends, hotel ownership and the hotel development process, hotel management, reservations and computerisation, front and back of house operations, guest accounting, site and event attractions, special interest markets and cultural tourism, managing a major tourist attraction, financial management, funding and sponsorship, sales and marketing planning for tourism attractions, staff development and customer service.

Assessment: Two assignments (each 2000 words): 50% + Examination (3 hours): 50%
