Synopsis: This unit provides an introduction to tourism studies. The main areas covered include the key components of the tourism industry, the importance and function of tourist attractions, motivations and types of tourists and the social, economic and environmental impacts of tourism.

Assessment: Two assignments (2000 words each): 50% + Examination (3 hours): 50%
