Synopsis: This unit concentrates on the management of human resources in the external and internal organisation context. It focuses on the contribution of HRM to competitive advantage via an analysis of HR planning, job design, staffing, reward systems, staff development, and HRM auditing. The relationship between the legal, ethical, and industrial relations issues and HRM is also explored.

Assessment: On-campus: Assignment 1 (2000 words): 20% + Individual major paper (3000 words): 30% + Examination (3 hours): 50%. Off-campus: Two assignments: 50% + Examination (3 hours): 50%

Prerequisites: MGF1010, MGX1010 or MGX1300
