Aeronautical and industrial aerodynamics (6 points)

Synopsis: The aerodynamics of aircraft flight, especially aspects of aircraft performance, control and static stability. The industrial aerodynamics section will first develop the fundamentals of bluff body aerodynamics, turbulence effects and separated flows and then lead to applications in the aerodynamic loading of structures and duct flows.

Assessment: Examination (2 hours): 70% + Laboratory and design assignments: 30%

Contact Hours: 22 lectures and 22 hours of tutorial/laboratory classes

Prerequisites: MEC3465 or MAE3965
