Flight mechanics (4 points)

Synopsis: Aircraft performance during take-off, climb, level flight and landing. Aircraft stability and static equilibrium including the effect of components. Aircraft control surfaces and devices, the trimmed equilibrium condition and its effect on performance.

Assessment: Examination (2 hours): 70% + Assignments and laboratory reports: 30%

Contact Hours: 22 lecture hours and 22 tutorial/laboratory hours

Prerequisites: MAE1415 (or MEC1415) and MEC2430
