Studies in Translation: English - Korean, Part 2 (6 points)

Synopsis: This unit aims to extend proficiency acquired in the subject KOR2450. This subject will place more emphasis on technical aspects of language translation and introduce various text transfer techniques, so that students can understand the problems of translating from both linguistic and cultural perspectives.

Assessment: Translation assignment (2000 words): 50% + Final exam (2 hours): 30% + Class exercises: 20%

Contact Hours: 4 hours (2 x lectures and 2 x tutorials) fortnightly classes and 2 hours on-line discussions per week

Prerequisites: KOR2450 or its equivalent

Prohibitions: KOR3460
