Modelmaking and workshop practice (6 points)

Synopsis: This unit deals with the practical aspects of making models in a workshop, embracing workshop practices, modelling techniques and using manual or semi-automated tools. Students undertake programmed exercises in modelmaking including three dimensional form development, and gain an understanding of the physical and chemical properties of modelling materials

Assessment: Progressive assessment: 60% + Examination: 40%

Contact Hours: 4 hours of taught classes plus 8 hours of individual study per week

Prerequisites: DGN1001
