Renaissance Florence (6 points)

Synopsis: A study of the political, social and cultural history of Florence from the late thirteenth to the early sixteenth centuries, with particular reference to the Renaissance period.

Assessment: Tutorial Participation (800 words): 15% + Topic Presentation and essay (1000 words): 15% + Research Essay (1200 words): 30% + Two in-class tests (1.5 hours): 40%

Contact Hours: 2 hours (1 lecture and 1 tutorial) per week

Prerequisites: A first year sequence in History or permission
