GSE4806Engineering project I (6 points)(ENG) Leader: tba
Offered: Synopsis: Students, through this unit, will undertake a project to a realistic industrial problem or a specific area of research. Planning, development and execution of an engineering solution over a period of one semester. Project topics are selected in consulation with a campus-based supervisor. Where a project is carried out in conjunction with an outside body, an industry-based supervisor is also appointed. Students are expected to maintain close contact with their supervisors and are required to keep a logbook and present an interim report detailing the outcome of the project at the end of the semester. Assessment: For the pair of units: GSE4806 and GSE4807 - Feasibility report, logbook, progress reports, an interim written report, a project thesis and an oral report at a seminar: 100% Contact Hours: 12 hours work per week Prerequisites: Successful completion of 38 cps of Level 3 |
