GEG4006Engineering project I (6 points)(ENG) Leader: R Beebe
Offered: Synopsis: Students undertake a project related to a realistic industrial problem or a specific area of research, planning a solution over a period of 15 weeks and present the final detailed plan for the solution development and testing in the form of a progress report. Project topics are agreed in consultation with a campus-based supervisor. Where projects are carried out in conjunction with an outside body, an industry-based supervisor is also appointed. Students are expected to maintain close contact with their supervisor and are required to complete a feasibility report, keep a logbook and present a progress report at the end of the semester. Assessment: Feasibility report: 10% + Progress report: 15% + Oral presentation: 25% + Logbook: 5% + Final report: 45% Contact Hours: 150 hours project work Prerequisites: Completion of 120 credit points or permission |
