GSC3304Paradigms of Practice (12 points)(ARTS) Leader: Karen Crinall
Offered: Synopsis: This unit offers a critical examination of social welfare practice across the different modes of intervention - individual and family, group, community, organisation and policy. Whilst the lower level units have separated the study of these different foci of intervention, this unit presents an integrated view of social welfare practice through the examination of particular practice theories and their derivation from broader social theories. Students are encouraged to pursue recent and relevant readings according to their chosen theoretical perspectives. Assessment: Literature review: 50% + Integrative assignment: 50% (totalling 4500 words) Prerequisites: GSC3306 or permission |
