Interpretation and Meaning in Sociology (6 points)

Synopsis: The unit explores the interpretive theoretical and research traditions in sociology which criticise modify, and respond to positivistic and naturalistic theory and method.

Assessment: Article review (2000 words): 45% + Essay (2500 words): 55%

Contact Hours: 2 hours per week

Prerequisites: GSC1201, GSC1202 and two second-level sociology units
