Synopsis: A development of the skills and techniques acquired in the first year course with an emphasis on experimentation with concepts related to the pluralistic nature of the discipline. Conceptual, aesthetic and theoretical concerns are addressed together with the development of practical skills. Projects are still determined by the lecturer but there is an emphasis on students developing their own self-motivated approaches. Projects set by the lecturer are designed to broaden the sculptural aesthetic, technical and conceptual understanding of the student. Teaching methods concentrate on individual tuition, group critique and discussion.
