Electronics for digital systems (6 points)

Synopsis: Introduction to signal conditioning and conversion techniques between the analogue and digital domains. The syllabus includes analysis and design of signal amplitude/frequency conditioning using operational amplifiers and other devices. Clock generation/regeneration techniques, ADC and DAC analysis and application, optoelectronics and sensors. Application of CAD tools for the analysis and design of signal conditioning circuits.

Assessment: Examination(3 hours): 60% + Assignment and practical work: 40%

Contact Hours: Two 1-hour lectures, one 1-hour tutorial and one 2-hour practical class per week

Prerequisites: CSE1112 or DGS1230 and MAT1812 or equivalent
