Introduction to electronics (6 points)

Synopsis: Principles of circuit analysis, basic concepts and characteristics of electronic devices. Elementary concepts of DC and AC circuit analysis, fundamentals of diodes and transistors and their application in switching circuits and amplifiers. Introduction to operational amplifiers, their basic applications in electronic circuits. Application of CAD tools for the analysis of circuits.

Assessment: Examination (3 hours): 60% + Assignments and practical work: 40%

Contact Hours: Two 1-hour lectures, one 1-hour tutorial and one 2-hour practical class per week
