Synopsis: Topics include the structure of web technology, good web page design, embedding of applets, methods, variables, scoping and objects. The use of Java as a platform for writing web enabled applications, including use of the Java class libraries. The mechanics of applet writing will be covered including security, display of graphics, the use of AWT and the AWT Event Model, and the life-cycle of an applet.

Assessment: Assignment 40% + Unit Test 20% + Final Examination 40%

Contact Hours: 4 hours per week

Prerequisites: CSE1202, CSE1301, BUS1060 or equivalent

Prohibitions: CPE1001
