Synopsis: An introduction to user interface design and methodologies used in GUI and multimedia interface design, and then explores in more depth issues relating to real-time signal processing within a multimedia context. Eg: the nature of analogue and digital signals, issues of quality of service, system requirements and network constraints, compression techniques, multimedia architectures, multi- and hyper-media models, traffic analysis and buffer design, Java media framework.

Assessment: Examination 60% + Practical 40%
