Synopsis: The unit will provide students with fundamentals and theoretical foundations of Network Administration through presentation of the following topics: introduction to Network Administration, IT System Components and Network Structures, Technology and Protocols, Host computer and User managment of System Administration, Network Administration methods and standards, managing devices using SNMP and RMON, management issues, Network Simulation as a management tool, network documentation, Network Security and Administration.

Assessment: Exam: 60%, Assignment: 15%, Project: 25%.

Prerequisites: CPE1007 or CPE2002

Prohibitions: CPE3012, CSE3153
