The discipline

Plant sciences is the study of plants, their diversity and structure, and how they function. It involves studying plants living on land, in the sea and in freshwater environments, from the scale of genes and molecules to ecology.

Sequence requirements

Minor sequence in plant sciences (24 points):

• BIO1011 and either BIO1022 or BIO1042, and
• any 12 points from BIO2181, BIO2082/BIO3082#, BIO2103/BIO3103# and BIO3091.

Major sequence in plant sciences (48 points):

• BIO1011 and either BIO1022 or BIO1042, and
• BOT2041 and either BIO2082# or BIO2103#, and
• any two of BIO3091*, BIO3082# and BIO3103#, and any two of BIO3021, BIO3011, BIO3111, GEN3031 and GEN3041/GEN3042.

* This unit has compulsory level-two prerequisites beyond those listed at level two.
# The version of these units at level three cannot be taken if the corresponding version at level two has been completed.
