Postgraduate Certificate of Education (Gifted Education)


General information

The Postgraduate Certificate of Education (Gifted Education) is designed for teachers, educational administrators, psychologists and other professionals who wish to develop their knowledge and understanding of the gifted and talented and appropriate educational provisions.

Admission requirements

To be eligible for admission to the course, applicants must be trained teachers, qualified psychologists or hold a recognised four-year qualification.

Course outline

The course consists of 24 credit points of study. Students will complete two 12-point units chosen from the following list:

Candidates who successfully complete the Postgraduate Certificate of Education (Gifted Education) may complete a masters degree in education by undertaking a further two or four units respectively.

Length of course/workload required

The Postgraduate Certificate of Education (Gifted Education) requires a minimum of at least one semester of full-time study and no more than two years of part-time study. Each of the units is one semester in length. The expected number of hours per week for a part-time student is 24.
