Carol Williams 6 points + 2 hours per week + First and second semesters + Clayton + Prerequisite: appropriate disciplinary minor + Corequisites: One of HSY3050, HSY3245, HSY3255, HSY3260, HSY3300, HSY3325, HSY3400, HSY3440, HSY3460, HSY3560, HSY3570, HSY3580, HSY3600, HSY3630, HSY3710, HSY3850, HSY3910, HSY3950, HSY3995, JWC3130, JWC3550, JWC3590, JWC3030, JWC3060, JWC3090, JWC3260, RLT3470, RLT3480 Synopsis: Most level three units offered in the School of Historical Studies are 6 point units. This unit provides students taking an approved corequisite unit with an opportunity to investigate it at greater depth and to interrogate its epistemological assumptions and pursue any related theoretical issues in a more substantial way than within the 6 point framework. For each student, the substantive content of the unit will differ, depending upon the particular problem they select for investigation. However, all students completing the unit will undertake essentially the same tasks - tasks designed to equip them with the methodological skills appropriate to a major in the Humanities. Assessment: Class participation: 10% + Research proposal (500 words): 10% + Research essay (4000 words): 80% |
