PHS4000Physics honours(SCI)
Associate Professor Michael Morgan 48 points + Full-year, comprising formal class contact and private study + Clayton + Prerequisites: 24 points of third-year physics units including the compulsory unit PHS3031 Synopsis: At least six sub-units are to be taken, with 'Quantum Mechanics' and 'Condensed Matter Physics' being compulsory. Students undertaking a theoretical project are normally required to take 2 further sub-units of 'Quantum field Theory'; and 'Statistical Mechanics'. Students are required to complete a research project involving some original work on a topic chosen in consultation with their supervisor. Assessment: Examinations and assignments: 45% + Project literature review: 5% + Experimental or theoretical research project: 50% |
