Synopsis: Analysis of the global context for HRM, the strategic role of HRM in organisations, human resource planning, job design, staffing, performance management, training and development, reward systems, legal issues in employment, HR information systems, and the contribution of HRM to competitive advantage.

Assessment: On-campus: Two written assignments (20% each): 40% + Class presentation: 5% + Class participation: 5% + Examination (3 hours): 50%. Distance: Two assignments: 50% + Examination (3 hours): 50%
