Synopsis: This subject will aim at providing students with skills on integrating various multimedia components and project development of interactive multimedia applications using a wide range of techniques and tools. Topics to be covered include: Media types and their characteristics; Multimedia applications and their system requirements, stand alone and distributed; Multimedia system analysis and design; Multimedia project planning and design issues; Multimedia related hardware and software; Standard multimedia graphic file formats; Research and legal issues in multimedia; Multimedia authoring; Programming for multimedia objects.
