Methods and practice of teaching chemistry B

6 points + 3 hours per week + Second semester + Clayton (on-campus), Gippsland (OCDL) + Prerequisites: EDF5464

Synopsis: This unit builds on the concepts introduced in EDF5464. The major focus of this unit will be to further develop strategies and pedagogy appropriate for teaching Chemistry in Years 7 to 12.

Assessment: Assignments: 45% + Teaching portfolio: 30%, Class Presentations: 25% Students must complete at least 45 days teaching practice (50 for double degree students) and gain a rating of satisfactory for the teaching practice + Student participation in the unit is vital and an 80% attendance requirement is required so students can fully participate in the workshops via attendance or on-line chat forum.
