BUS3720Corporate Groupware(IT) Not offered in 2002 6 points + One 2-hour lecture and one 1-hour tutorial per week + Prohibitions: BUS5720 Synopsis: This subject deals with Corporate Groupware beginning with a discussion of the collaboration, coordination and communication business processes that exist in a corporation. Discussion of the general form of software and hardware, and the terminology and key functions are enumerated, defined and explained. To ensure that students aquire a practical and marketable skill set, the dominant product in the Groupware marketplace, Lotus Notes + Domino Server, is reviewed in the light of the preceding implementation-neutral discussion. They are then examined in detail, from a user perspective and from a developer perspective. Tutorials will allow students access to this product. Assessment: Assignment: 30% + Examination (2 hours): 70% + Students must pass the examination in order to pass the subject. |
