APA4521Metals/jewellery D1(A&D)
12 points + 24 hours per week comprising 8 taught studio hours and 16 independent study hours + First semester + Caulfield + Prerequisites: APA4514 Synopsis: This subject builds on the skills acquired in APA4514, and allows students to take their knowledge of jewellery and metalwork to a more advanced level. Students will negotiate projects in consultation with the lecturer from a range of studio options appropriate to the student's artist aims. Contemporary practice and the need for team work, and collaboration with industry or other designers as a means to establishing a credible independent studio practice will be incorporated in the syllabus. Students may choose to specialise in jewellery, tableware or architectural details, in series production or one of a kind production.
