How to use this handbook

The handbook is divided into two main sections -- the faculty section and the unit section. The faculty section provides you with information on the structure of the faculty, the courses offered and the requirements of these courses. You should refer to the specific degree in which you are seeking an offer, or are enrolled, to ensure that you understand the structure of your course.
It is important that you read and understand the structural requirements of your degree so that completion is not delayed or jeopardised. Requirements can be found in the 'Outline of studies' later in this section.
Once you have determined, with the help of a faculty course adviser, which areas of study you are interested in and whether you wish to study full-time or part-time, you should refer to the discipline prefix (described in the following table) and then move to the unit section of this handbook to determine details of the units you are interested in studying. Once you have selected the units you would like to enrol in, you should refer to the faculty timetable to check that there are no timetable clashes.
