This
course is designed to provide training in the health benefits and risks of
exercise for all sectors of the population. The course meets the educational
needs of many groups of professional people who are in a position to prescribe
scientifically validated exercise techniques for health benefit across the
community. These include general practitioners, nurses, occupational
therapists, exercise scientists, physical education teachers, professional
physical training instructors, and community health care professionals.
Entry is open to graduates with a relevant pass degree or equivalent
qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
Applications will be accepted up to 23 November 2001. Late applications may be
accepted, subject to available course places -- applicants should check with
Dr Robert Griffith for availability.
Mid-year enrolments are also accepted.
The course is conducted over 12 or 24 months part-time or six months full-time. The course is conducted entirely by off-campus distributed learning. No attendance is required.
Assessment includes journal submissions, discussion papers and assessable questions.
