The course has been designed to provide high-level training in the fields of
international trade, diplomacy, economics, international law and environmental
law policies, and contemporary international politics. It would contribute to
the development of private and public sector managers engaged in international
trade, the diplomatic staff, workers in international organisations and NGOs,
and other professionals interested in these areas.
The degree can be completed by either a coursework option or by a coursework
and research paper option. Applicants require a pass degree or the equivalent
qualification from a recognised tertiary institution or an executive
certificate from this faculty with an average grade of credit or above. This is
a fee-paying course. Candidates should consult the Department of Management as
to the 2002 course fee. Course fees are set and reviewed annually and are
therefore subject to change. Candidates may be eligible for a maximum of six
credit exemptions for units considered to be equivalent to particular units in
the course of study. Credit is restricted to study completed in the last five
years. Refer to the course director for further details.

Electives may be selected from other graduate units taught by the Department of
Management, in particular from the Public Policy and Management program which
offers units by off-campus distributed learning. The selection of electives
should meet overall course objectives and is subject to course director
approval. In place of elective(s), students may study a research paper
equivalent to one to six units. A minimum of four 5000-level units must be
completed.
