In recent years, it has become obvious that the prosperity of any geographical region, and indeed the sustainability of life on Earth, is dependent on the successful management of its natural resources. This environmental management course provides students with the opportunity to develop an appreciateion of the Earth's natural resources (its flora and fauna, minerals, soils, air, water and energy) an awareness of environmental management issues, and the knowledge and skill base to adequately manage these resources. The course consistes of a compulsory core of subjects mainly from the disciplines of biology, chemistry and instrumental science, along with a number of specially designed subjects dealing more specifically with industry, resources and their environmental management.
