The following should be read in conjunction with the statements on the Bachelor of Commerce and the Bachelor of Economics.
The double-degree course of Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Economics requires a minimum of four years full-time study, or five years for a degree with honours, or the equivalent in part-time study. Entry to this combination is based on the entry requirements for the Bachelor of Commerce degree.
Students are required to complete the following compulsory subjects:

• ECC1000 and ECC1100/ECC2100 (Economics)
• ETC1000 and ETC1010/ETC2010 (Business and economic statistics)
• AFC1021/AFC1022 (Accounting)
• AFC1100/AFC2100 (Finance)
• MGC1010 and MGC1020/MGC2020 (Management)
• MKC1200/MKC2200 (Marketing)
• BTC1110/BTC2110 (Business law)
• ECC2000 Intermediate microeconomics and ECC2010 Intermediate macroeconomics

Students wishing to take first-year subjects other than those on the above list are able to undertake the second-year versions of the appropriate number of compulsory subjects. This allows students to complete substantial work in related fields.
Students must complete a major in either economics or econometrics and business statistics and a second major in another discipline or field of study.
The following are also requirements of the course:

• satisfactory completion of 32 subjects, or subjects to the value of a total of 192 points (while each subject offered by the Faculty of Business and Economics has a points value of six, the points value of subjects taken from other faculties may vary, and where this occurs, students must complete the minimum number of points rather than the number of subjects recommended), over four full-time years or a maximum of 10 years of study
• a maximum of 13 first-year-level subjects (78 points)
• a minimum of eight third-year-level subjects (48 points) of which at least five must be from those offered in the faculty by the campuses delivering this program
• an option to include subjects to a maximum value of 48 points from disciplines outside the faculty or from an approved list of faculty subjects offered on campuses other than Clayton
• at least two non-compulsory subjects (12 points) must be taken outside the main fields of study.

Students must have their program of study approved by the course coordinator or the course coordinator's nominee prior to commencement of the relevant year.
