the first time in 2000 and is applicable to on-campus students at Caulfield

This course is principally designed for students seeking a career in the
banking and finance industry or who are already employed in the banking and
finance industry and are seeking a relevant tertiary qualification on a
part-time basis. In addition to a core of business foundation subjects, the
course provides specialist study in a number of key functional areas of
relevance to financial institutions and markets.
A study score of at least 25 in English (any) and in mathematics (any) at units 3 and 4 level, and a study score of at least 20 in any two other VCE studies.
Applicants may also satisfy entrance requirements with qualifications equivalent to VCE, eg TAFE qualifications (the first year of a TAFE diploma or equivalent TAFE qualification) or comparable Year 12 qualifications, including International Baccalaureate, or other approved tertiary study.
Students who have not successfully completed VCE or equivalent may satisfy entrance requirements by completing at least two Monash non-award single subject or open learning (OLA) subjects. Fees will depend upon the student's residency status. Local residents will be liable for the fees set by the government under the Higher Education Contribution Scheme (HECS) or on a full-fee-payment basis. In addition to part one, section five of the degree regulations, the following credit transfers have been standardised for the Bachelor of Business (Banking and Finance):
The degree satisfies the educational requirements for senior associate membership of the Australasian Institute of Banking and Finance. Holders of the degree who have not completed the two years of employment in the banking and finance industry required for senior associate membership are eligible for associate membership in the interim.
Day and evening classes are offered at the Caulfield campus. Not all subjects are offered in all semesters.
The course will normally be completed in three years on a full-time basis and six years on a part-time basis, with the usual load being two or three subjects per semester. Evening classes are held between the hours of 6 pm and 10 pm, with students attending two or three evenings per week.

In addition to the two compulsory subjects below, students must select four from the remaining eight subjects:

In
addition to the above 18 subjects (108 points) in the 144-point program,
students must choose six electives from any discipline within any faculty,
subject to approval from other faculties.
The new course structure introduces greater flexibility but the following
additional regulations must be observed:

Completion of the BBus(B&F) will enable progression to an honours year and a variety of postgraduate courses either at Monash or other Australian or overseas universities. Details of specific postgraduate courses are available on inquiry from the faculty.
