Human resource management issues

6 points + 3-hour class per week + First and second semester + block mode + Caulfield + Prerequisite: MGX9850 or appropriate prior study in human resource management

Synopsis: An overview of human resource management examining the impact of the social, economic, political and legal environment of human resource management. Topics covered will alter as current issues change. Representative issues include implications of social and demographic changes for HRM; the role of HRM in the changing employment relationship; workplace flexibility; HRM in global enterprises.

Assessment: On campus (written assignment of 3000 words, 35%; topic presentations, 25% + Examination (2 hours): 40%
