MGC3100Management ethics(BUS)
Dr Elizabeth Prior Jonson 6 points + 2-hour lecture per week and 1-hour tutorial per week + First semester + Clayton + Prerequisites: MGC1010 and MGC1020 Synopsis: Do corporations have any responsibilities beyond profit maximisation? To what extent should business activities be left to the operation of the free market and to what extent should they be regulated by government? This subject examines the theoretical foundations of the different answers that have been given to these two fundamental questions. More specifically it examines the topics of affirmative action, human resource management whistleblowing, product safety and ethical issues in marketing, advertising and environmental protection. Assessment: Written (assignment 3000 words): 30% + Tutorial participation: 5% + Tutorial presentation 10% + Examination (2 hours): 55% |
