GSE2801Measurement and computer instrumentation(ENG)
W R Perera 4 points + 26 lecture hours, 13 laboratory hours, 13 hours supported self-study: distance students equivalent 104 hours private study + First semester, Gippsland/distance + First/second semesters, Malaysia + Prerequisites: ENG1301, ENG1602 Synopsis: Measurement theory. Statistical analysis applied to measurement. Transducers in hand-held measurement and in automated systems. Types of measurement signals. Electronic and optical signals. Signal conditioning and treatment. Implementation of automatic measurement systems. Integrated approach to transducer action, signal transmission, data-acquisition, processing, and action/display. Supervisory software in the system design and operation. Virtual instrumentation (Lab view or similiar software). Assessment: Theory examination (2 hours): 70% + Laboratory-based assignments: 30% (these are work requirements) |
