ENG1602Engineering computing(ENG)
D Suter (Clayton and Caulfield) and K R Spriggs (Gippsland) 4 points + 24 lecture/tutorial hours and 24 laboratory hours + First/second semesters, Clayton + Second semester, Caulfield + First semester, Gippsland/distance + Prerequisites: Basic computer familiarity will be assumed. Synopsis: Problem formulation and programming concepts. JAVA: standard data types, arrays; control statements; functions, including parameters. Spreadsheet concepts using Excel. Structured problem solving techniques, applied particularly to engineering problems, will be treated using these tools. Assessment: Written examination (3 hours): 70% + Assignments and laboratory work: 30% |
