Synopsis: This subject will explore the role of radio and television news and current affairs in society. Issues of the production of meaning by news construction and editing will be considered. The subject will address the issues of news production and journalism field work in radio and television.

Assessment: Journal (1000 words): 20% + Radio news script (2 minutes): 15% + Radio and television current affairs script (5-6 minutes): 40% + Critical essay (1500 words): 25%
