Synopsis: This subject will explore the role of radio news and current affairs in society. Issues of the production of meaning by news construction and editing will be considered. The subject will address the issues of news production and journalism field work in radio. Students will be instructed in the use of audio recording equipment and digital editing.

Assessment: Analysis and presentation (1000 words): 30% + Short radio production (5 minutes): 10% + Radio feature production (15 minutes): 30% + Production proposal and critical essay (1500 words): 30%
