Nonlinear circuits without energy storage: clipper, comparator, logic-gate families. Clamp, rectifiers and filters. Wave-shaping circuits: LRC differentiation and integration, pulse generation. Regenerative wave shaping: triggers, multivibrators, timers. Linear analysis: review of amplifier basics. Op-amp internals: stage configurations, compensation. Op-amp imperfections: offset and drift, bandwidth and slew rate. Op-amp linear linear applications: differential, transconductance, instrumentation amplifiers, second-order active filters. Op-amp nonlinear applications: precision rectifier and clamp, logarithmic and exponential circuits, comparator, Schmitt trigger. Assessment: Examination (3 hours): 70% + Continual assessment: 30% |
