Graduate Certificate in Health Services Management


This course, offered by the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, aims to provide a graduate program for professionals working within the health care sector who wish to expand their knowledge and skills in the management of health services.
The course is completed in one year part-time and is offered in a distance education mode with compulsory residential block requirements each semester. The course is not offered on a full-time basis.
This degree allows students to gain core competencies in health services management, including leadership, human resource and financial management of health services that can be built upon in the Graduate Diploma in Health Services Management and master degrees.
Applicants must have a medical degree, a bachelors degree with honours or graduate diploma, or a three-year bachelors degree with relevant professional experience in a health-related field. The department will individually assess applications from students with a nursing diploma completed before the introduction of nursing degrees.

This course comprises of two core and two elective subjects.

Assessment is by written assignment, examination, individual and group presentation.
